Parents,
UGA Tinley would like to update our mask policy as it pertains to the risk of the quickly spreading Delta Variant. Like many of you, we’ve seen the proliferation of the virus nationally but more importantly locally and anecdotally within our everyday conversations. Today, Governor Pritzker mandated masks for children when they return to school in a few short days. In light of this new policy and CDC guidance as it pertains to indoor facilities, we have decided to adopt a mask for all policy, as well.
Starting today, we are requiring everyone, regardless of vaccination status, to wear a mask properly for the entirety of your time with us. All UGA staff have already started wearing masks this week but now we are requiring everyone to join us. We will have masks available for anyone who needs one as we understand this adjustment may take a few days for everyone to get the message.
We have no intention of limiting class offerings or altering our gym functions; this is just our effort to keep your kids safe. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding at this time. We know this is a hot button issue and it was not an easy decision to make.
As soon as transmission rates seemingly subside so will our policy will be adjusted back to more normalcy. We’ve been fairly lenient recently with community and facility spread at virtually zero rates, as this changed this week, we wanted to act swiftly. We have been advised by several medical professionals that this course of action is our best effort to give everyone in our facility a chance to keep transmission rates down.
As always UGA has the areas most extensive make up policy and if you are experiencing any symptoms please reschedule your class and we’ll be happy to accomodate.
