To Our UGA Families,
From the onset of Covid-19 we made a promise to you and your children to create the safest environment where everyone can feel safe coming to our facility. As children return to schools and events moving exclusively indoors it has created an increase of positive cases in our area. There have also been more anecdotal reports of people being exposed to those who have been tested positive in our lives. Because of this, we have had to adapt our policies and procedures to maintain that promise.
Starting Monday, October 19th we are requesting that all recreational athletes wear masks during their time with us. Obviously, this was not an easy request for us to make and we want to clarify a few things. At this time, it is just a REQUEST, not an official requirement. For numerous reasons should any students not have or feel comfortable wearing they will still be able to participate. This can obviously change, but as we alter the plans we are providing a period of time for everyone to make accommodations. Additionally, if at any time a coach or the athlete feels the mask may inhibit their vision or breathing when performing a skill they are by all means welcome to drop the mask below their chin. This request is for those times when we cannot keep proper distancing and general down times when they are not skill building.
Like everyone, we are hopeful this change is only temporary. We sincerely hope you understand this request is our best effort to keep our athletes, parents and staff safe during your time in the gym.
We are constantly monitoring this changing situation and feel it’s best given the information and professional consultation we have sought out. We will continue to update you on the progress and any changes. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the office.
Sincerely,
United Gymnastics Academy – Tinley Park
